The Director of Career Services leads teams responsible for preparing students, graduates and alumni for employment in their field of study. He/She builds strategic relationships with local and regional employers, non:profit, and government organizations to identify and develop employment and experiential education opportunities. This position designs and implements career services programs (e.g., effective job search techniques, resume preparation, interviewing techniques, etc.) to prepare students for a successful outcome in their job search. He/She serves on the campus management team and helps shape career services strategy. The Director of Career Services is ultimately responsible for the alumni association, the acquisition of externship/practicum sites, compliance with state and federal regulatory and accreditation standards, and the employment of DeltaA?s graduates for the campus he/she serves. Minimum:BachelorA?s Degree or equivalent work experience3 years of experience in Career Services, student advisement, recruiting, employment assistance or related field2 years of experience in a management or supervisory role Preferred:5 years of experience in Career Services, student advisement, recruiting, employment assistance or related fieldBusiness:to:business sales experienceCustomer service experienceWorking knowledge of federal/state government education regulations Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to leverage research results into actionable marketing and business building initiativesKnowledge of basic marketing concepts and ability them to promote the schoolKnowledge of research resources and their applicationExcellent presentation skillsKnowledge of the career developmentKnowledge of the employment market and effective job search strategiesAbility to cold:call employers and solicit job leadsExcellent organizational skills to maintain records of graduates, employers and placementsKnowledge of best practices in career coachingAbility to develop and use collaborative relationshipsAbility to prioritize and quickly resolve issuesSuperior verbal and written communication skillsExcellent creative and problem solving skillsProject and program management skillsKnowledge of the federal Department of Education, state, local and accreditation standardsKnowledge of Microsoft Office programs and database programs (CampusVue preferred) Leads the Career Services DepartmentMaintains and oversees all aspects of the campus career services department to ensure quality delivery of career services programs.Collaborates cross:functionally to ensure career services programs and materials are aligned with campus strategy.Prepares state and federal accreditation reporting to ensure compliance with regulations. Serves as a member of the campus advisory committee to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the student experience from enrollment to graduation. Executes Graduate Placement Strategy Collaborates with academic departments to assist with the placement of students in part:time and permanent employment, work:study programs, internship and externship opportunities.Develops and maintains systems and processes used to identify employment opportunities for students.Maintains consistent and frequent communication with students and potential employers during the job search period to influence a positive outcome.Ensures work:study and/or internships are coordinated effectively with appropriate documentation and commitment from all parties.Maintains an active lead generation process to ensure targeted, quality job opportunities are available for students and graduates.Keeps students informed of employment activities and opportunities (e.g., job fairs, employer recruitment events, current open positions, etc.).Plans, organizes and executes quarterly employer recruitment events.
