21911BRReq No.:21911BRJob Description and Qualifications:Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has openings for Undergraduate Accounting/Finance Summer Interns at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.For calendar year 2018, a minimum of four assignments will be available in our Corporate Audit, Global Accounting or Technical & Consolidations Departments. Examples of work that could be done during the assignment are listed below, but not limited to the following: Assistance on special projects, such as the implementation of new accounting standards or other ongoing projects.Performance of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing under the direct supervision of an audit staff member. Specifically includes scheduling testing with various individuals, sample selection, preparation of work papers, analyzing the evidence of the control performance and making a pass/gap determination using an on-line application to record results.Participation in operational audits under the direct supervision of an audit staff member. These audits could include reading audit programs, performing testing under supervision of an audit staff member, preparation of audit work papers, and use of automated documentation software.Performance of account analysis to ensure validity and integrity of the Balance Sheet under the supervision of an accounting staff member.Assistance with the gathering of data to fulfill requests related to SOX testing as well as external audit requirements for various accounting groups. This could include collaboration with individuals outside of the Finance Organization such as Commercial, Operations, and Energy teams.The assignments are scheduled for 11 weeks (traditionally late May through mid-August). Responsibilities may allow for part-time continuation during the Fall (September through November) commensurate with performance. A minimum GPA of 3.3 is required. We prefer students currently in their Sophomore or Junior year working toward a bachelor s degree in accounting or finance. Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and time management skills are necessary. Previous experience with Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
