The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting in the monthly closing including preparation of journal entries, account analysis and reconciliation. The person selected for this position will be primarily responsible to support the FMS Marketing and Environmental Services departments, as well as manage the abandon property processes for the company. Support to these departments includes managing the books and records of certain transactions, providing accounting guidance as needed, generate operating results and other reports on a monthly basis, and continuously interact with department heads on a variety of items. Managing the abandon property processes includes, tracking of abandon property, maintain compliance with state requirements including reporting, and account reconciliation and analysis. li : postBachelors degree in accounting, business, or related fieldMinimum of 3 (three)years experience in accounting related fieldIntermediate level skills with MS Windows such working with windows and its components, desktop, taskbar, start menu, minimize/maximize/close function, drag/drop, copy/paste, rename, delete, recycle bin, and my computerExpert level skills in Microsoft Excel such as working with formulas, data tables, pivotCharts, queries, custom functions, data management, programming, macros and analysisExperience with basic accounting practices and procedures requiredAccurate and efficient 10:key ability requiredADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:CPA or MBA preferred. Walker/CARMS experience preferredExpert level skills in Microsoft Excel such as working with formulas, data tables, pivotCharts, queries, custom functions, data management, programming, macros and analysisIdeal candidate must be able to meet deadlines and interact will all levels of managementSelf:motivated team player with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and handle special projectsStrongly self:motivated to reach established department goalsStrong communication skills to speak with internal and external customersMust be able to work with cross functional teamsStrong customer service skills and problem solving abilityProven follow up skills and attention to detailKnowledge of FOCUS is preferredThis position requires a high level of detail, accuracy, someone who is well organizedProficiency in verbal and written communication requiredCandidate must be proficient with computers to include MS Office and Outlook or other e:mail applicationOther duties include but are not limited to: Manage books and records of transactions, provide accounting guidance, generate monthly reports, and continuously interact with assigned departments and department headsManage abandon property process by tracking properties, ensuring legal compliance, and ensuring proper accounting of the propertiesGenerate and distribute FMS management reports and other month end reportsJournal Voucher preparation for FMS management reporting.
