Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a North America Fixed Asset Lead Accountant at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.This position is responsible for Fixed Asset analysis and management reporting for the North American operations of Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. The incumbent is responsible to ensure timely and accurate reporting of all capital transactions in compliance with APCI capital policies and procedures and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The incumbent is the Fixed Asset and SOE SOX Coordinator and insures compliance to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. They are also responsible for global convergence of work processes ensuring compliance with USGAAP and APCI Finance standards. The incumbent is the Enterprise Design Owner (EDO) for the Fixed Asset Systems Module of SAP. Ownership includes process development / documentation, maintenance, measurement and driving of change towards continuous process improvement in the Company's Fixed Asset processes.The incumbent is responsible for the execution of tax information related to North American fixed assets. The Fixed Asset Accountant serves as the single point of contact for the Tax Department and North America business team. This position works closely with the Global Process Owner as well as global Fixed Asset Accounting and Project Support Accounting teams. The Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for developing and maintaining worldwide Accounting Policies and Practices thereby strengthening financial and operational controls. This position will also be responsible for handling Ad Hoc business requests and finance projects. Strong Accounting theory and application skills are essential to converge concepts, analyze data, and SAP design in order to architect solutions which support business requirements and accounting controls. The incumbent requires a minimum of 5 years' finance experience exhibiting strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, teamwork skills, independent initiative and a proven ability to effectively lead teams and effect change. They should possess the ability to plan and organize work to deliver on our service level agreements to multiple organizations. The incumbent should possess strong accounting skills and have the ability to understand and interpret Finance Standards and financial control requirements as they relate to fixed asset accounting.
